Lakehouse Nursery is a family run private nursery providing excellent care and education for babies and children between the ages of 3 months and 5 years.
Situated in a converted Victorian detached house in a unique location next to the Lake grounds, we are at the heart of Portishead’s growing community. At Lakehouse we have created an environment where children can laugh, learn and grow. The Lake grounds and local woods provide an amazing environment for children to explore, learning about nature, whilst aiding with their physical and intellectual development. The environment will play a huge part in our day to day activities with a good proportion of each day spent outside. Children will learn to look after and enjoy the garden, taking part in recycling, growing fruit and vegetables, building dens, and generally playing in the fresh air. Our nursery pets include rabbits and fish which the children will be encouraged to care for, learning about responsibility, being caring and gentle.
We understand that choosing the right care for your precious little ones is an extremely tough decision and we will work with you both before and during your time with us to ensure that we provide the right environment for your child to blossom.
‘It’s our nature to nurture’ - we only recruit staff who are passionate about child development, all our staff have a Paediatric First Aid certificate and 100% of our core staff are fully qualified – the government guideline is that 50% of staff in a nursery setting have a childcare qualification. Therefore we are confident that we can provide you with the best care possible. We include all meals, nappies, creams and sun creams. We only ask that you bring a change of clothes and your baby’s milk. All our meals, including vegetable and fruit purees are freshly prepared on site using locally sourced produce where possible. We cater for all dietary preferences and requirements and will discuss this in depth with you on registration.
